As part of our continual commitment to offer you the best in eye care we can take a digital retinal picture as part of your eye health regine. The picture is a detailed image of your retina – the back of your eye – allowing you to see what we see; as well as keeping a permanent photographic reference of your eye health so we can review it again when you come back to see us for your next comprehensive eye exam.

A visual field acuity test is a painless test that determines how well a person can see by testing the central and/or peripheral (side) vision. The test is performed by an optometrist to detect areas of vision loss (blind spots) caused by a brain tumor, stroke, glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, or head trauma. It can also be used to monitor the progression of previously known visual field loss.
An autorefractor or automated refractor is a computer-controlled machine used during an eye examination to provide an objective measurement of a person’s refractive error and prescription for glasses or contact lenses. This is achieved by measuring how light is changed as it enters a person’s eye.
The Icare tonometer is based on a proven accurate measuring principle, in which a very light probe is used to make momentary and gentle contact with the cornea. The measurement is barely noticed by the patient and often does not even cause corneal reflex. The device not only makes IOP measuring a more pleasant experience on all patients, it is also an important break-through for succeeding with non-compliant patients (f.e. children and dementia patients).
Requiring no drops and no air puff, it is a quick and painless solution to measuring the pressure in the eye and has an important role in glaucoma screening.
